The Balea Lake is a glacial lake situated high in the Fagaras Mountains and one of my favourite places in Romania. It is one of the places where it snows first and where the snow lasts the longest. As a result, the Transfagarasean road that leads to it is closed for most of the year. The photos were taken during a freeride snowboard competition held in late May.
