Until not very long ago, Copsa Mica was one of the most polluted places in Europe. Most of the pollution was initially caused by the carbon black factory that functioned here until 1993 and continued in the form of toxic gases emanated by the factory in the last photo. However, shutting down the remaining factory would have serious economic consequences for the town.
